The CLS@APS programme represents a partnership between the Canadian Light Source (CLS) and the Advanced Photon Source (APS) at Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois, USA.
A state-of-the-art soft X-ray scattering facility featuring high flux, high resolution and full polarization control. Suitable for studying novel and advanced quantum materials, including strongly correlated electron systems, spintronic materials, high Tc superconductor, nano-scale biomaterials, and more.
The SGM beamline is designed for soft x-ray absorption spectroscopy and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy with an emphasis on environmental samples and catalytic materials. An easily accessible endstation, utilizing four silicon drift detectors, is highly configurable and ideal for performing in-situ and in-operando experiments.
SXRMB is a medium energy x-ray beamline which supports, but is not limited to, research from the biological, environmental, and chemical sciences.
VESPERS is a hard X-ray microprobe beamline capable of providing a high level of complementary structural and analytical information.
Facilitating research in materials of both fundamental and applied nature, the VLS-PGM beamline provides high resolution, low energy spectroscopic studies. We invite users and collaborators to discuss their proposal with the Beamline Staff before submission. This is crucial for a careful assessment of the experiment feasibility.
