The 18th Canadian Powder Diffraction Workshop will be hosted in-person at the University of Saskatchewan from July 28-31, 2025. Joel Reid will be providing several x-ray diffraction tutorials and Toby Bond will be giving a talk.

The CLS is hosting a 2-day course on x-ray absorption spectroscopy. Peter Blanchard, Denis Spasyuk, and Miranda Vu will be involved in the course from August 18-19, 2025.

Toby Bond will be attending APMA's Canada Automotive Summit in Vaughan, Ontario on June 10, 2025.

Burke Barlow will be attending the Characterization of Nuclear Materials Workshop at McMaster University from April 28-29, 2025.

Toby Bond has been invited to speek at the Electrochemical Society's meeting from May 18-22, 2025 in Montreal.

Erika Bergen attended APMA's 71st Annual Conference on June 11, 2024.

Joel attended the 15th Canadian Chemical Crystallography Workshop (CCCW24) in Winnipeg from May 28-June 1, 2024.

Industry Services had a booth at CIM CONNECT 2024 in Vancouver, where you may have met Peter, Erika, and Burke in May.

Toby Bond presented at the International Battery Materials Association Annual Meeting in Halifax from September 8-13th, 2024.

Joel Reid participated in the Rietveld Refinement & Indexing Clinic hosted by the International Centre for Diffraction Data (ICDD) as an instructor from September 24-27, 2024.

Peter Blanchard attended IDEATE 2024 in Saskatoon on June 19th, 2024. This meeting focused on problems within the mineral industry and their possible solutions.

Burke Barlow attended and presented a poster at the 2024 Microscopy Society of Canada meeting. The meeting took place in Ottawa from June 4th-7th, 2024.

Peter, Joel, and Erika attended The World's Premier Mineral Exploration & Mining Convention, PDAC 2025 in Toronto from March 2-5, 2025.

Burke Barlowe, Erika Bergen, Joel Reid, and Miranda Vu attended the 2024 Saskatchewan Geological Society (SGS) open house. If you also attended this event, you may have seen them at the purple CLS Industry Services booth.

Burke Barlow attended the 16th International Conference on X-Ray Microscopy and presented a poster. The conference ran from August 12th-16th, 2024.

Memberships

The Industry Services group is a member of various associations. These memberships provide us with opportunities to stay up-to-date with industry issues and solutions, as well as opportunites to network with individuals and other organizations.

APMA

Industry Services is a memeber of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association (APMA). APMA membership provides our team with preferential access to events that allow for networking and research and development opportunities.

CRN

Industry Services is a member of the Composites Research Network (CRN). CRN aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry to improve composite design and manufacturing. Industry Services applies synchrotron techniques to gain insights into composite structures, making the membership useful for reaching potential clients.

IMII

Industry Services is a member of the International Minerals Innovation Institute (IMII). IMII is dedicated to improving the mineral industry through innovation, education, and partnerships. IMII is a helpful resource for developing connections within the mineral industry to pursue research and development.

STEP

Industry Services is a member of Saskatchewan Trade & Export Partnership (STEP). STEP aims to raise awareness of Saskatchewan's exports, products, and services. They offer services and programs that can help to grow businesses.
