Training Requirements
All new users must “Complete New User Registration” and users with expired badges must complete/update their mandatory training prior to access to the experimental floor. In addition to mandatory training, experimental or area specific training or awareness may be required.
Please login and view your Experimental Permit at “My Proposals” to identify any additional training or controls to be followed prior to the start of your experiment.
These training modules can be completed online prior to arrival at the CLS. This is strongly recommended since it saves a considerable amount of time during the check-in process at the User Services Office. Please note: the training database is currently housed on a separate server, therefore, if you have not received login details specifically for the training database, please contact mailto:clsuo@lightsource.ca for details.
New user check-in:
Upon successful completion of the required training you will be issued a photo identification security access card (please bring photo ID such as a passport or Driver’s License) and dosimeter, and asked to sign a User Agreement.
Returning user check-in:
If you are a returning user, please note that the CLS has recently installed a new Active Area Radiation Monitoring System (AARMS) and all individuals must complete a refresher course on the response to radiation alarms. If you have not yet completed this training, please login to the training database https://sciencestudio.lightsource.ca/uso select "Other Training" and select the AARMS training module. Upon completion of this your access card will be reactivated.
