Beam Time Allocation

The Allocation Committee meets twice per year to determine which General User proposals will be allocated beam time based on the scientific merit rankings from the Peer Review Committee and also determines the amount of time to be allocated to each proposal. 

Prior to the allocation meeting, each group (purchased access, the beamline team member, beamline maintenance/upgrades and the beamline scientist) identifies if the full percentage of beam time identified in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is required for the upcoming period.  If the full percentage is not required, then these shifts are returned to the Executive Director and/or Director or Research to reassign at their discretion.
