Pioneering Research in Plant Science Using Synchrotron Light
Friday, November 18, 2005
(Afternoon, 1/2 Day Workshop)

Synchrotron light is a powerful new tool for the study of plants, so new in fact that most studies are producing fundamental pioneering papers in new fields of research. Analysis of plants with synchrotron light is improving knowledge of plant biochemistry, genetics, physiology and anatomy. These discoveries will affect the way we utilize plants and better our knowledge of plant-environment interactions, protein function, gene expression and plant metabolism. The speakers in this Symposium will illustrate unique information obtained using synchrotron- based analysis and how these experiments are being integrated into existing plant research-programmes.

Workshop Organizers: Colleen Christensen mailto:colleen.christensen@lightsource.ca, Martin Reaney mailto:martin.reaney@usask.ca

Location:Commerce 45
College of Commerce, University of Saskatchewan (25 Campus Drive)
