Applications of Micro-Tomography in Science
Friday, November 18, 2005 (Morning, 1/2 Day Workshop)

X-ray microtomography is a non-destructive method that provides cross sectional images of objects using X-ray attenuation. The X-ray CT technique originally was developed for medical diagnosis with mm-scale resolution, however, developments in this technique has achieved micro-scale resolution and been successfully applied to many other fields of research such as Materials Research and Metallurgy, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Paleontology and the Life Sciences. This one-half day symposium will be used to introduce researchers to tomography, as well as present applications of tomography in several scientific disciplines.

Workshop Organizer: Tom Kotzer, Canadian Light Source Inc.
