Below are snippets of past projects of European Science on Stage participants.

Louis Laroche, a Canadian delegate to SoSII in Grenobl

Louis Laroche, a Canadian delegate to SoSII in Grenoble, France presents his project “Experiments with Mexican Jumping Beans”. His ten year old students work with the active ‘beans’ to develop and conduct experiments and develop skills in graphing, observation, prediction, and more.

Some national teams at SoSII in 2007 went to great lengths to draw attention to their displays like this team from Sweden.

This photo is of a spectacular toy train display at SoSD in Berlin in 2008. Built in stages by several years worth of students at Maria-Ward-Gymnasium in Gunzburg, Germany, it is a continuing project that is added to each year by a new group of students. Classes in many disciplines and across many ages contribute to the design and construction of each stage. Most classes have portions of their year with lessons in many subject areas based on attributes of the display.

This robot’s programming was done by one group of students while another group built it for SoSII in France.

A close up showing the detail and workmanship of the students – each piece of the display tells a story about the community.
