SoSC participation status request Please select the level at which you wish to participate in SoSC. Delegate: Delegates are full participants in every aspect of this festival. You will share your successful and innovative ideas at the fair; contribute your perspective to the pedagogical discussions; and participate actively in the professional development opportunities. Delegates with exemplary projects may be funded by SoSC and/or our sponsors to attend SoSC. We encourage you to find funding sources in your province. Observer: An observer is an individual representing a company or an institution (research, school, government, etc) who wishes to observe specific activities. He or she may visit for a period of time ranging from a full day to the whole duration of our event. Observers are not funded by SoSC. If you wish to apply for observer status, please let us know what your interest is in SoSC, what activities you wish to attend and why.
Information from delegates If you are applying to be a delegate, please fill out this section. Describe your primary educator load including age levels of your students and courses that you teach. e.g.: formal education: grade 6, elementary level, 11-12 y.o., generalist informal education: grades 3 to secondary, 8 to 17 y.o., general science Educational project or approach (for examples see www.scienceonstage.ca the Materials section) Description (objectives and content) Age level How does your project/approach support student learning? How could your colleagues utilize your project/approach in their teaching situation? What makes your project unique? In addition to displaying your project/approach on a stand during the Fair (see www.scienceonstage.ca) six projects will be chosen from among the delegate projects as a showcase presentation. Each selected delegate will have the opportunity to spend 30 minutes ‘on stage’ to present in more detail. If you are selected, you will need to furnish SoSC a 250 words bio and a 500 words presentation of your project a month before the event. This information will be displayed on our website as SoSC starts. Please check if you are willing to make a presentation. It is an expectation that an exemplary teacher such as yourself would share what you have learned at SoSC with your colleagues? Please provide a detailed plan to accomplish this task.

Funding status Delegates are eligible for funding. SoSC seeks to cover the expenses of the delegates. SoSC will prioritize at first two representatives from every province, territories, and the First Nations, Métis and Inuit community. Please let us know your funding requirements. Self-funded – I do not require any financial assistance from SoSC. *Self funding in full does not guarantee the project’s acceptance at SoSC Source of funding – please let us know where you are receiving funding as it helps us with our planning for future SoSC funding applications

Partly funded – I have some of my own funding, but require assistance from SoSC. *SoSC will cover some expenses of partly funded delegates if funds are available

Full Funding – I need SoSC’s assistance to attend the festival. *To recognize excellence, SoSC awards full funding to the most creative, innovative, and student engaging projects.
