| At the end of the last commissioning period
(May 2004) the following images were captured in the OSR
beamline (Optical Synchrotron Radiation) using the Iccd camera
(Intensified charge-coupled device) and the Streak camera. The image
on the right (black & white) shows various electron bunches side-by-side
displaying a length of 100 pico/seconds, which is consistent with design
expectations. The image on the left (colour) shows a single bunch viewed
head-on. |

toured the CLS as part of his visit to Saskatoon. |

| Federal Finance Minister Ralph
Goodale announced on Tuesday April 6th an increase in funding
towards the operations of CLS (Top left photo). Dr. Arthur Carty, National
Science Advisor for the Prime Minister, says a few words to the audience
of approximatelly 150 people. Seated behind him are: Dr. Walter Davidson,
